This post is sponsored by the Florida Prepaid College Board, through my role as a Believer Blogger. They say that we can speak about things that we have felt or experienced, like the “been there done that” thing. But today, I want to talk about something I hope you do not experience like the regret of not saving for the future of your kids college education. You see, I owned a small business, worked very hard to make a six figure salary, but took for granted what I had, thinking that it would always be that way. Turned out to be that the world changed and the economy went down creating an unfortunate turn of events where I lost everything. Seriously my regret now, is that I didn’t open a savings account just for my son’s college tuitions and expenses. Thinking that I was going to make it big again right a way. I’m still in the process of making it big again. Meanwhile, I’m disappointed with myself but worst of all is that my son is affected by it. Please don’t let this happen to you. I hope you learn from my mistake. Prepare today for your child’s future education, the future comes a lot quicker that you think.

Have peace of mind today knowing that your kids will be able to take care of themselves later on in their life. College tuition for your child is within your reach you just don’t know it yet. Following you will find a variety of tools to help you understand the cost of college, how you can start saving for it and why saving early is so important.

  • Plans to be offered starting at less than $47 per month, providing a variety of affordable options for families
  • For the third consecutive year, Plan prices remain near historic lows

Florida families can now take advantage of prepaid tuition plans that remain near historic lows for the third year running, following Saturday’s kickoff of the 2016-17 Open Enrollment period. Open Enrollment is the only time each year that families can purchase one of the Florida Prepaid College Board’s five prepaid tuition plans and prepaid dormitory plans.

Prepaid Plan prices for this Open Enrollment period remain near the historic lows we have seen for the past three years,” said Board Chairman John Rood. “We encourage families to start saving now, by selecting the plan that best fits their college savings goals.”

This year, families can purchase the following great options:

  • 4-Year Florida University Plan for a newborn for as low as $187 a month
  • 2 + 2 Florida Plan for under $148 a month
  • 4-Year Florida College Plan for less than $117 a month

The 1-Year Florida University Plan for a newborn starts as low as $47 per month and covers 30 university credit hours. Multiple family members can purchase a 1-Year Florida University Plan for the same beneficiary, effectively sharing in the cost of a university degree.

If a child attends an out-of-state college or private college, Prepaid Plans will pay the same amount as they would pay at a public college or university in Florida. Also, if a child receives a scholarship, Plan purchasers can get a refund for the same amount as the plan would pay a public college or university in Florida. Every Prepaid Plan is guaranteed by the State of Florida.

I hope that you will take advantage of this Open Enrollment period to learn more and start saving for college.

My Best wishes to you all my friends.
